Join us for a day of treating hemlock trees in the woods! Meet the Strike Team at the Hemlock Conservation office, and we will provide transportation to the site. During this treatment day, we will use basal bark spraying methods. We will adjust our work plan if the weather forecast predicts rain or wind. We will use stem injection methods or mark an area to prepare a stand for treatment.
Please note that volunteers must have Hemlock Hero training to join us. While we welcome everyone, it's essential to understand that this type of work can be physically demanding and requires the use of pesticides. Prospective volunteers must be well-prepared and capable of navigating challenging terrain in a fast-paced environment.
Please bring all necessary items for a full day in the field. This includes an ample water supply, packed lunch and snacks, and appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor activities. Additional details and specific requirements will be provided closer to the volunteering date.
