Ecological Forestry Coordinator

The Ecological Forestry Coordinator is responsible for maintaining our outreach program, developing new opportunities for ecotourism and recreation, supporting forestry operations planning, and coordinating research on our Crown land license area. This dynamic and multi-faceted role is best suited to an individual whose interests lie in the intersection between forestry and traditional conservation approaches. They will work closely with the Executive Director and Operations Manager to coordinate research and support internal monitoring and stewardship initiatives within the license area. The role involves collaborating with partner organizations in the conservation and forestry sectors on relevant projects within the local community and beyond.  

Recreation & Ecological Forestry Intern

The Recreation & Ecological Forestry Intern will support the MCFC’s forestry operations and biodiversity monitoring program and lead the supervision and maintenance of the MCFC’s new campground facility. This diverse and technical role will support the Operations Manager to conduct daily checks of the campground, liaise with customers and ensure smooth operations and launch of the campground facilities. The intern will support field duties associated with the MCFC’s forestry operations including, pre-treatment assessments, old forest surveys, harvest and silviculture monitoring, wildlife feature identification, post-harvest data collection, tree marking and block layout.
